Tim Crain will lead the seminar. He received a Ph.D. in modern European and modern Jewish history at Arizona State University.

“In Chambers: Behind the Bench of America’s Justice System – Classic Issues/Current Conflicts” takes participants behind the bench to see how judges decide cases of corporate combatants, abortion protesters, sex predators, journalists and others July 22 – 27.

Charles B. Schdson, a Wisconsin Reserve Judge Emeritus, will provide a serious look at real cases through the lenses of history, literature, cinema, psychology and…humor.

The last seminar held July 22 – 27, “In the Beginning,” will explore questions about the nature of humankind and the universe with the aid of rabbinic commentary stories of the beginning in Genesis. Jay R. Brickman is Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Sinai and will lead this seminar.

“Learning To Live, Learning To Die: Lessons from WIT explores why WIT, the Pulitzer Prize winning play by Margaret Edson, has had such a profound impact. From July 29 – Aug. 4 participants will engage in a close reading of the play, perform selected scenes and learn about the playwright. Co-instructor Liz Cole will also perform her solo version, “The Wisdom of WIT.”

Cole has had a long acting career on the professional stage, including the leading role in Margaret Edson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama WIT, for which she received the L.A. Drama Critics’ Circle Award for Outstanding Performance.
