Bjِrklunden Offers Week-long Grandparent/Grandchild Seminar

From June 23 through June 28, Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden is offering “Magic, Yo-Yos, Juggling, Music, Games, & Nature Exploration – Tons of Fun! (Grandparent/Grandchild Week)” with David Stokes and Michael Steele.

Grandparents and their grandchildren will enjoy learning a wide variety of amazing performing talents – also known as the “showing-off arts.” Steele will teach magic and yo-yo tricks, juggling, active and quiet games, joke-telling skills, and will lead a percussion band. Using the Bjِrklunden natural environment, Stokes will lead short hikes, share live animals, get wet in a river, facilitate a campfire, share stories and have fun.

Stokes is a nationally known naturalist, educator and entertainer who lives with his family in New Berlin, Wis. This will be his 20th seminar for Bjِrklunden. For more information about Stokes, visit dwstokes.com.

Steele is a professional magician, recreation specialist, and former demonstrator for the Duncan Yo-Yo Company. He has a B.A. in sociology and an M.A. in elementary education. He taught fourth and sixth grades for 14 years. For more information visit magicalmichaelsteele.com.

This seminar takes place at Bjِrklunden’s lodge, just south of Baileys Harbor. For complete course descriptions, call 920.839.2216 or visit lawrence.edu/s/bjorklunden.
