Bjorklunden Offers Wildlife and Photography Seminars

From Oct. 3 – Oct. 8 Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden in Baileys Harbor is offering two seminars: “The Wildlife Communities of Door County” and “The Landscape of Your Vacation.”

In “The Wildlife Communities of Door County,” Don Quintenz, director of education and land management at Schlitz Audubon Center in Milwaukee, will lead students on daily expeditions to learn more of local animal life, geologic history, and the intimate connections that define “community.”

In “The Landscape of Your Vacation,” international traveler Mike Hoover, an amateur and part-time professional photographer, will introduce participants to various tools and techniques that will allow them to share their travel history. Class time will be split between classroom and location photography field trips. Classroom topics will include photocomposition, personal style, camera functions, photo presentation, and more. Students are asked to bring their own camera (digital cameras preferred) and any peripheral attachments needed to operate it.
