All are invited to join the dedication of Sturgeon Bay’s second blessing box Sept. 29, 11:30 am. The short ceremony will include its origin story, filling it for the first time and a prayer of dedication.
A blessing box is a freestanding food pantry that operates under the idea, “Take what you need. Leave what you can. Above all, be blessed.” It’s available for those who need food outside of local food pantries’ normal business hours. Anyone in the community may drop off food as they are willing and able.
The city’s first blessing box resides at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1756 Michigan St., under the awning on the small parking lot side. The second box is at the Popour Neighborhood garden, 322 S. 4th Ave., and supported by the Moravian Church.
