“Blithe Spirit” On Stage at Peninsula Players

Peninsula Players Theatre has announced the cast of its production of Noël Coward’s comedy Blithe Spirit – a witty, haunting play that’s been a hit around the world since 1941. The show is on stage through July 23.

Sean Fortunato returns to delight audiences as the debonair Charles, who finds himself caught between two wives. Heidi Kettenring plays Ruth, Charles’ sophisticated and concerned second wife. Rebecca Hurd portrays the outgoing, carefree Elvira, and Janet Ulrich Brooks is the mysterious Madame Arcati. Jackson Evans plays Dr. Bradman, who’s very skeptical about mediums, and Sadieh Rifai plays Dr. Bradman’s curious and excitable wife. Maya McQueen portrays the nervous maid, Edith.

A seminar will take place July 22, 6:30 pm – before the 8 pm performance – featuring Agatha Christie scholar Christopher Chan, who will discuss Noël Coward and his connection with Margaret Rutherford, who portrayed Coward’s Madame Arcati and Agatha Christie’s Miss Marple in films.

Blithe Spirit is performed Tuesdays-Saturdays, 8 pm; and Sundays, 7:30 pm, except for July 23, when the show starts at 2 pm. Learn more and purchase tickets at
