Blue Bird Pass to become Heritage Road

Welcome to “Notes from the Grove” providing information about Liberty Grove town government to residents and visitors.

• The town board has approved the recommendation from the Highway Committee to designate Blue Bird Pass as a Heritage Road. It joins Waters End Road as a Heritage Road.

• The Parks and Properties Committee and the Highway Committee will begin developing a rolling replacement/maintenance schedule for building and equipment respectively. This will provide the Finance Committee the ability to project and fund needed replacements and major maintenance projects into the future.

• The town board went on record and has sent a letter of support to the RPC regarding increasing the height of communications towers from 75’ to 100’(Ch.1.04(4) of the County Telecommunications Tower Ordinance). It is estimated this will increase the ability of wireless providers to reach more areas with high speed internet access.

• The Wisconsin Towns Association has begun holding the 2013 district meetings across the state. The board has authorized the attendance for board supervisors and town administrative staff. The meetings are held in February and March.

• The new propane heaters for the town shop have arrived. The town crew will do the physical installation of the heaters and DeMoulin HVAC, LLC will do the final gas connections, thermostat installation and testing of the units. The units are two stage 300,000 BTU sealed combustion LP gas heaters.

• The Economic Development Committee is discussing holding a Business Roundtable for all businesses located in Liberty Grove. The purpose would be to listen to concerns local businesses have and to provide information regarding what options the town has available to assist business and what is available through state and federal agencies. Janet has compiled a list of 230 businesses within Liberty Grove and they will be receiving an invitation to attend and participate in the event. A date has not been set.
