Blues Pianist Ken Saydak to Play June 29

Ken Saydak will be in concert at Lost Moth Gallery on June 29 at 7 pm.

Saydak, a native of Chicago, has enjoyed a more than forty-year career as a musician, writer, vocalist and producer. He currently hosts a two-hour weekly blues radio program, The Trinidaddio Blues Hours on KCRT-FM, in southern Colorado.

He is the pianist, organist and accordionist on more than 60 albums by national and international artists. His 2013 release, Live In La Veta (SnailWorx) follows his other solo-career recordings: It’s My Soul (2005), Love Without Trust (2001) and Foolish Man (1999). All of his recordings showcase his instantly recognizable vocals and piano style, as well as his insightful, engaging and often humorous songwriting.

Soul Bag magazine of Paris writes, “Our man is a true blues pianist, all around, at the same time soft and deep, a worthy heir to Otis Spann, a champion of an instrument which has lost its prestige. In addition, he’s a sensitive composer, occasionally autobiographical, absolutely gifted for socio-economical or philosophical vignettes about daily life and human relationships.”

The show starts at 7 pm, and concert doors open at 6 pm. Feel free to BYO wine; there will be glasses for drinks and treats available. Lost Moth Gallery is at the north end of Egg Harbor at 7975 Hwy 42. Tickets are $20 cash. For reservations call 920.495.2928.
