Boating Safety Classes Offered this Spring

The local US Coast Guard Auxiliary unit will present three Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource (DNR) Boating Safety Classes this spring. People born on or after January 1, 1989 are required to pass a safe boating course to legally operate a power-driven boat, including a personal watercraft (PWC).

The course topics include boating terminology, safe boat and PWC handling, paddling sports, Federal and State regulations and aids to navigation.

A Wisconsin DNR warden will also present materials and be available for questions.

Classes will be held on April 28 in Luxumberg, May 5 in Sturgeon Bay, and June 9 in Sister Bay.
