Bob Schoof Earns KLA Emeritus Status

Bob Schoof spent his first summer at his family’s cabin on Kangaroo Lake when he was four years old. During the 80-plus years since then, he’s accumulated a wealth of knowledge about the lake’s ecology and has devoted untold hours to reactivating the Kangaroo Lake Association (KLA) and its activities: installing fish cribs, maintaining the dam, managing the wake buoys and doing conservation research with his childhood friend, the late Paul Mahlberg. In appreciation for his extensive service, KLA President John Leach presented Schoof with a framed aerial photo of the lake and a resolution conferring emeritus status as a member of the Kangaroo Lake board of directors.
