Boogie & the Yo-Yo’z Bring ‘Christmas With You’ to DCA

You may have seen this entertaining musical group at the Door County Fair, or anywhere across Wisconsin, performing their wide variety of cover music and entertaining the masses at all kinds of events. Boogie and the Yo-Yo’z, a regional band, has been performing for festivals, fairs, fundraisers, weddings, corporate events and everything in-between since its inception in 1995. Their normal show is filled with Top 40 pop, rock and country covering six decades of music.

This Saturday you can see Boogie & the Yo-Yo’z perform in an entirely different element. Join them at the Door Community Auditorium on Dec. 14 at 7 pm for their show, “Christmas With You.” Boogie takes its audience on a musical journey celebrating their favorite holiday by performing new adaptations of traditional Christmas songs and a few brand new original Christmas songs penned by members of the group.

They use their brand of humor, showmanship and love of the holidays to bring the audience a Christmas show that will delight the entire family.

Ditching the T-shirts and jeans, Boogie will don formal attire for this intimate theater-style show. Featuring the talents of guest violinist Beth Chafey-Hon and percussionist Adam LeGrave, the group will also be joined by music students from the Gibraltar and Sturgeon Bay school districts.

From an a cappella rendition of “The First Noel” showcasing the vocal skills of all eight band members to their powerful version of “O Holy Night,” Boogie has put their spin on several traditional Christmas songs. The audience will also hear some holiday classics by Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey, Faith Hill and more. And, drummer Kevin Baker has added four of his original Christmas songs to the program, including the fun “It’s Christmas Day” and the tear-jerking title track “Christmas With You.”

Tickets can be purchased at dcauditorium.org or yoyoz.com.
