Club: Cherry Pit Literary Society, a name chosen after reading The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society.
Meetings: Monthly. We also have an annual “literary review” of our year’s reading every November and an annual Christmas party each December.
What We’ve Read: Some of the books we’ve really enjoyed include Still Alice, The Help, The Good Luck of Right Now, Orphan Train, Big Little Lies, and The Light Between Oceans.
Review: The most intense book discussion we’ve had was after reading Steve Jobs.
One Interesting Thing About Us: A couple of highlights for our club were having lunch with Lynda Drews after reading Run at Destruction and attending a discussion with Brian Freeman, author of The Bone House.
What’s Next: We do not choose reading lists in advance for upcoming months but are spontaneous with our book selections, choosing monthly for the following month.
