Book Signing with Joy Ann Ribar Sept. 21

Novel Bay Booksellers, 44 N. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, welcomes author Joy Ann Ribar – a Wisconsin native and semi-retired English educator – for a book signing Sept. 21, 1 pm. Ribar’s debut novel in her Deep Lakes cozy-mystery series, Deep Dark Secrets, takes readers to Deep Lakes, Wisconsin, to meet Francine “Frankie” Champagne. She’s the 40-something owner of Bubble and Bake – bakery by day, wine lounge by night – who’s a spitfire pastry maker, vintner and budding journalist. Frankie finds herself on the edge of a suspicious death that upends the peaceful winter slumber in Deep Lakes and sticks her curious nose into the investigation, despite the sheriff’s warnings. But she has something to prove – maybe to the newspaper editor who wouldn’t hire her, or maybe to herself as she searches for fulfillment – and her fierce independence won’t let her back down.
