Boutin Knife Paintings Featured at Idea Gallery

Idea Gallery’s Small Works Show will be showcasing Minnesota palette knife painter, Jeff Boutin. Boutin’s series of paintings capture the essence of the rocky shoreline of Door County’s Cave Point. His new body of work includes scenes of Cave Point, close-up compositions of ice age boulders and intimate shoreline beach scenes. Boutin’s an oil painter who uses palette knives to create richly colored landscapes.

“Every artist should endeavor to create their own sense of style, impression-expression defines mine,” said Boutin. “Lots of color, heavy texture; pushing the boundaries of abstraction.”

The gallery is located at 6551 County Road T, West Jacksonport, and is open daily, 11 am – 4 pm, through Dec. 19. For more information, visit
