Boys & Girls Club Has Big Plans for New Facility

The Boy & Girls Club of Door County’s new home, the Baudhin Incorporated Building at 55 S. 3rd Avenue in Sturgeon Bay.

The Boys & Girls Club of Door County now has a new home in downtown Sturgeon Bay – the Baudhuin Incorporated building located on Third Avenue. The facility will be used for the Club’s teen center and third grade and above program space.

Executive Director Julie Davis expressed her excitement about the new downtown location, “The building gives us an ideal location in downtown Sturgeon Bay. It is walking distance from Sturgeon Bay Middle School and High School and one block from Martin Park.”

The Club recently received the 2014 National Honors Award for Best Overall Program in the nation. “To have purchased this new facility coming on the heels of our national award, highlights not only the incredible growth we have had the past three years, but the commitment to quality programming this community can expect from us as we move forward. With this new facility we are hoping to provide weekend programming for our teenage members, expand our meal program to several nights a week, and continue to increase the number of youth we are able to serve.”

The Club plans to make renovations to the facility through a $1.5 million dollar capital campaign. For more information visit bgcdoorcounty.org.
