Boys & Girls Club of Door County Seeking New CEO

John McMahon has stepped down after nine months of leading Boys & Girls Club of Door County as its CEO. The club and its board of directors wish him well in his next endeavors.

The board is now working to identify a new CEO. The board and staff are committed to carrying on their mission to inspire area youth to learn, create, explore and share. Currently, board president Steve Kane is overseeing operations.

The club (bgcdoorcounty.org) is focusing on its summer camp programming, which includes Camp LeVoy and youth partnerships at Crossroads at Big Creek. The staff is also looking forward to resuming after-school programs to provide STEM education, social and emotional learning, art and culture, healthy-lifestyle education and community partnerships to hundreds of school-aged children.

“We are excited about the progress Boys & Girls Club has made,” Kane said, “and we are committed to continue down the path of progress that is focused on the needs of our community’s youth. We understand that the club has faced numerous leadership changes over the last several years. However, we know the club is better positioned than ever to serve our local youth members.”
