The Boys & Girls Club of Door County received the Honor Award for Overall Program Excellence for the second consecutive year at Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s (BGCA) 109th National Conference held recently in Chicago. The organization also received a $5,000 award from MetLife Foundation, sponsor of the annual recognition program, which honors local clubs for innovative, effective programming leading youth to great futures.

The Honor Award for Overall Program Excellence is presented to a club that has conducted the best overall program.

“We hope that our growing community of supporters will take pride in this incredible accomplishment. For our hardworking staff, this is the best ‘job well done’ they could ever get,” said Julie Davis, chief professional officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Door County.

The club also picked up a prestigious MAC award, which is given to clubs that have demonstrated excellence in marketing. The club’s holiday mailer, designed by local graphic designer Eric Minten, picked up a silver award in the publicity and media relations category from the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
