Boys Hoops: Eagles Win Packerland Outright

Southern Door’s boys basketball team wrapped up winning the Packerland Conference title all by itself for the second season in a row with a 72-54 home victory Monday night over NEW Lutheran.

The Eagles, who broke open a 35-27 halftime advantage in the final 18 minutes, were led by Drew Daoust with a game-high 34 points. Caden Pierre added 17 points. Both players made three threes

Griffin Steffel made four threes and led the Blazers with 21 points, followed by Reid Nelson with 11 points.

Southern Door, which holds a two-game lead in the Packerland over second-place Kewaunee after improving to 15-0 in the conference and 19-4 overall, closes out its regular-season schedule Thursday with a league game at Oconto.
