‘Breaking Bread in the Holyland’ Guided Bus Tour Mixes Geology and Religion

Breaking Bread in the Holyland is a ledge tour that takes a unique and very special look at the cultural history associated with Wisconsin’s Niagara Escarpment. On June 14, 2:30 – 7 pm, a guided bus tour will visit three historic churches (St. Ann, St. Mary, St. Lawrence Seminary) located within the “Holyland” of Calumet and Fond du Lac Counties. Led by Dr. Joanne Kluessendorf, geologist and director of the Weis Earth Science Museum, this tour will show how the beautiful landscape was settled and how the location and architecture of these churches relate to the geology of the region. The tour ends with dinner (included in the price) at Schwartz Supper Club, located in St. Anna. Space is limited to 25 people. Register and pay online by visiting escarpmentnetwork.org. Tour begins/ends at Schwartz, W1688 Sheboygan Rd, New Holstein. Questions can be directed to Dena Mooney at 920.849.1493, ext. 263 or [email protected].
