Door County Brewing Co. hosts the fourth Hey Hey 5k run in Baileys Harbor Saturday, Sept. 22, as part of Baileys Harbor Autumnfest.
The race is a fun-loving 5k around the backroads of Baileys Harbor that starts and finishes at the taproom. Finishers get a great race shirt, Door County Brewing Co. pint glass, and their first fill-up free in the taproom. Youngsters get free root beer floats with ice cream from Door County Ice Cream Factory.
Register online at HeyHey5k.com, or on-site Friday night 6-9 pm at the taproom, or Saturday morning before the run. The race starts at 8 am.
The race is all about having fun in classic Door County style. The Hey Hey 5k is named for one of the favorite sayings of Baileys Harbor icon Freddie Kodanko, the late Polka King who also inspired the name of one of Door County Brewing Co.’s signature beers, the Polka King Porter. Freddie loved his polka, loved to laugh, and have a great time.
The race is brought to you by the Peninsula Pacers, creators of the Door County Half Marathon, Door County Beer Festival, Door County Pond Hockey Tournament, and the Peninsula Century bicycle rides.
After the race stick around Baileys Harbor to enjoy food, a classic auto and motorcycle show, live music and more fun at Baileys Harbor’s Autumnfest.
