Brian Kelsey Joins Wisconsin Arts Board

Governor Scott Walker has announced the appointment of four new members to the Wisconsin Arts Board, the state agency that nurtures creativity, stimulates community and economic development and serves as a resource for people of every culture and heritage. The new members are: Mary Gielow, Mequon; Brian Kelsey, Fish Creek; Heather A. McDonell, Madison; and Kevin Miller, Fond du Lac.

“We welcome these four outstanding new members to the Arts Board and look forward to working with them,” said Bruce Bernberg, Chairperson of the Wisconsin Arts Board. “They each bring their passion for the arts and a deep understanding of the arts’ role in Wisconsin’s creative economy.”

Appointees serve on a fifteen-member board for three-year terms. Board members set policy for the agency and approve funding recommendations made by the peer review panels.

Kelsey, currently the Managing Director of Peninsula Players Theatre, joins the Wisconsin Arts Board with a broad range of for-profit and not-for-profit business experience. He also serves on the boards of the Governor’s Council on Tourism (Vice-Chair), Fish Creek Civic Association (Vice President), Peninsula Arts & Humanities Alliance and Theatre Wisconsin (President).
