Burress Takes on Principal Duties at Gibraltar Temporarily

Justin Burress, a longtime Gibraltar teacher and coach, has taken on the duties of elementary school principal this winter while Lauren Ward is on maternity leave.

Stousland said the district will determine Burress’ stipend amount after Ward returns, and there’s a tally of the hours, extra days, instructional meetings, staff meetings and board meetings he will have accumulated. Stousland and Lisa Wing, director of pupil services, will share some of that workload and also handle some of the duties while Burress is in the classroom.
