Burtons to Read from Door County’s Islands at Peninsula Bookman

Paul and Frances Burton, authors of the most recently released work of Door County history, will be appearing for a reading and presentation at The Peninsula Bookman in Fish Creek on Wednesday, September 16 at 7 pm.

Door County’s Islands contains writing on the histories of all of Door County’s 27 islands, from the tiny Spider Island to the largest, Washington Island. All of them share a place in the history of the Door Peninsula, going back in time to the days of birchbark canoes. There’s something special about islands: they appeal to our pioneer spirit and yearning to be one with nature. Islands represent sanctuaries where water and land merge as one.

With the Door County’s Islands, the Burtons have added another contribution to Door County history writing. Their previous works include Ephraim Stories, Door County Stories, More Door County Stories, and Ephraim’s Founding Father – all still in print.

Please join us Wednesday, September 16 at 7 pm to meet the authors. For more information, phone The Peninsula Bookman at 920.868.1467 or visit http://www.doorcountybookstore.com.
