Baileys Harbor Business Airs Concerns About Neighbor

The Baileys Harbor Town Board convened a special meeting Aug. 15 to formally hear complaints in an ongoing feud between the neighboring businesses PC Junction and Stone’s Throw Winery, which are located across from each other at the junction of County Highways A and EE, also known as Peninsula Center.

Baileys Harbor town clerk Haley Adams said PC Junction’s concerns with Stone’s Throw Winery are long-standing, with PC Junction management airing complaints about the winery for about the past 15 years. The purpose of the special meeting was to get the complaints on the record, then redirect them to the proper governing body: the County of Door.

During the meeting, Terry Hanusa and Laura Seidensticker of PC Junction made a number of allegations about Stone’s Throw Winery, including code and permitting violations. None of the concerns or allegations fall within the town’s jurisdiction, however, because Baileys Harbor has county zoning, according to the town’s officials. So PC Junction management will need to address them at the county level, Adams said.

Baileys Harbor deputy clerk Katie Virlee provided a list of contacts to help Hanusa and Seidensticker move forward with their concerns.
