Buy Local Mixer at Waseda Farms

On Tuesday, May 1, Door County Buy Local and the Agriculture sub-committee will present the Waseda Farm Tour and Mixer from 4 – 7:30 pm.

Local farmers, chefs, restaurateurs, institutional food users, consumers and supporters of sustainable, local agriculture are invited to the family-friendly event at Waseda Farm, located at 7281 Logerquist Road, Baileys Harbor.

Highlights of the evening include tours of the farm led by owner Tom Lutsey, and the transformation of the farm’s machine shed into a local foodie exhibit and mixer hall, featuring samples of local food provided by the exhibitors.

The Buy Local Agriculture sub-committee will present a short program designed to stimulate discussion of the benefits of supporting local agriculture, and the UW – Extension will distribute copies of the 2012 Agriculture Producers Guide.
