Last week’s trivia question:

This month, a 15-year-old female from Florida became the youngest female golfer to turn professional. Three years ago, at the age of 12, she was the youngest player to ever qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open. What is her name?

Answer: Alexis Thompson

Still not old enough to get her driver’s license, Thompson made her professional debut at the ShopRite LPGA Classic on June 19. Although she missed the cut with scores of 71 and 76, she became the youngest female golfer to turn professional. Last year when she was 14, she made the cut at the U.S. Open after her third time qualifying, finishing tied for 34th. She hails from a family of golfers, with older brothers Nicholas on the PGA tour, and Curtis, a member of the Florida Junior Tour.
