Cadets Recognized at Civil Air Patrol Banquet

Door County Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol recently hosted its annual squadron awards banquet at the Draft Haus in Sturgeon Bay.

Members and guests viewed a year-end slideshow, compiled by Capt. Pam Peterson, showcasing all of the activities the squadron participated in throughout the year. During the awards portion of the banquet, several members received awards for achievement, service and activities.

Receiving the Gen. H.H. “Hap” Arnold Award and promotion to c/A1C, was cadet Jordan Anthony. Cadet Anthony also received special recognition for outstanding commitment to professional development. Cadet Layla Scharpf was recognized for outstanding attendance and participation in the cadet program. Cadets Anthony, Doug Foss, Liam Herbst, David Safranski and Scharpf were acknowledged for receiving their First Flight Certificates for completion of their Cadet Orientation Flight.

Other awards presented this year included outstanding assistance in the training and development of Door County cadets, given to five senior members, Lt. Jim Dickleman, Maj. Dave Fish, Maj. Peter Sherrill, Maj. Ron Marto and Capt. Pam Peterson.
