Call for Art Teams for PenArt’s Disco Ball

Creative competition in funky, timed events is in store for members of Art Teams at the Disco Ball on Jan. 14, 6 – 9 pm, at Peninsula School of Art. Anyone 21-years-old and older is invited to form a team of six members to compete for prizes during the Ball. Artistic prowess is not a requirement. Instead, team members should be willing to have fun while working with unusual media, such as favorite foods of the 1970s.

Team members may register individually by calling PenArt at 920.868.3455 or online at PeninsulaSchoolofArt.org/events for an entry fee of $25 per person. The deadline for entry is Jan. 12. Those not participating in the Art Team events may attend the Ball by purchasing a $15 ticket.

The Disco Ball is the celebratory component of PenArt’s Art at Studio 54 exhibition, which features smaller-scale works measuring no larger than 12” in any dimension – the size of an album cover. Attendees are encouraged to wear a costume, or other accessories befitting the ‘70s theme. In addition to Art Team awards, the Ball includes prizes for exhibition artwork and Best Costume. Music provided by a DJ, ‘70s-themed finger foods, and groovy adult beverages also contribute to the funky atmosphere of the Disco Ball.
