Call for Entries for Miller’s 41st Juried Annual

Since the inaugural Juried Annual exhibition in 1975, the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay continues to draw artists from across Northeast Wisconsin for the competitive exhibit, which includes a total of $1,175 in awards and a top cash award of $175. The museum is now accepting submissions. With a deadline of Sept. 19, 2016, the competition is open to established and emerging visual artists 18-years-old and older working in two-dimensional media who reside in Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc or Oconto county.

The exhibition will be on display at the museum, located in the Door County Library in Sturgeon Bay, Nov. 5 to Dec. 29, 2016, and will feature work of two-dimensional media. Hand deliveries of submissions will be accepted through Sept. 26. Artists may submit up to two pieces; the entry fee is $20.

Works must be original, completed within the last two years (not created under the direction of a teacher in a class or workshop) and not previously exhibited in Door County. It is entirely the artists’ discretion as to whether or not works be listed for sale. Work may not be removed until the close of the exhibition.

A total of eight awards will be presented totaling $1,175.

The opening reception is set for Nov. 5, 3 – 4:30 pm, with the announcement of awards at 3:30 pm. For more information, contact Curator Deborah Rosenthal at [email protected] or 920.746.0707 or visit millerartmuseum.org.
