Call for Art Teams for PenArt’s Mad Hatter’s Ball

Creative competition in madcap, timed events is in store for members of Art Teams at the Mad Hatter’s Ball on Jan. 23, 6 – 9 pm, at Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek. Anyone 21-years-old and older is invited to form a team of six members to compete for prizes during the Ball. Artistic prowess is not a requirement. Instead, team members should be willing to have fun while working with unusual media, like oversized playing cards.

Team members may register individually by calling PenArt at 920.868.3455, or online at PeninsulaSchoolofArt.org/events for an entry fee of $25 per person. The deadline for entry is Jan. 20. Those not participating in the Art Team events may attend the Ball by purchasing a $15 ticket.

The Mad Hatter’s Ball is the celebratory component of PenArt’s first Artists in Wonderland exhibition, which features small-scale works measuring no larger than 8” in any dimension. Attendees are encouraged to wear a costume, an outrageous hat, or other accessories befitting Wonderland. In addition to Art Team awards, the Ball includes prizes for exhibition artwork and Best Costume. Music provided by a DJ, Wonderland-themed finger foods, and adult concoctions that demand, “Drink me,” also contribute to the festive atmosphere of the Mad Hatter’s Ball.
