Calling All Kids!

Summer is just around the corner and that means that it’s time for the fourth annual For Kids By Kids Theater Day Camp at Third Avenue Playhouse. Children ages 9 – 14 are eligible to audition for the camp at any one of four sessions to be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 10 and 11, from 1 – 3 pm and 6 – 8 pm at TAP. No advance preparation is necessary. Students will be asked to read from copies of the script.

This year’s camp will be supervised by Bill Bauernfeind and Renee Kujawski. The four-week theater workshop runs Monday through Friday from 10 am – 2 pm, beginning Monday, June 16. Workshop participants will be involved in all aspects of production including stage management, lighting and sound, set design and props. The camp will culminate with a full stage production of Happy Daze (or the Short, Happy Madness of Julian Thaddeus Springer). Six performances are scheduled over two weekends – July 11 – 13 and July 18 – 20.

“This is a wonderful play,” observes Bauernfeind. “And it teaches a valuable lesson about working through problems and dealing with real life.”
