Camp Zion Announces Summer Program

Camp Zion in Ellison Bay is gearing up for another busy summer program. In its 68th year on Door Bluff, the camp is open year round, and offers traditional, age-appropriate, Christian youth camps beginning in June. Sessions are open to all, and openings still remain.

“Camp is a temporary community away form the normal distractions of life, where people can experience God’s creation, and learn about and grow a relationship with God. The unique camp environment works in campers’ lives in ways that are often life-changing,” says Camp Zion Executive Director, Dale Stewart.

Two new specialty camps are being offered this summer. Partnering with the National Youth Theater & the Studio, Camp Zion is offering “Camp Frozen,” a music theater camp session featuring the songs of Frozen on June 16 – 21 (with rights from Hal Leonard Showtrax). Students will receive drama, vocal and dance training, and engage in creative projects, team building, devotions, and worship times. Lead instructors include Justin Parks and Adam Walsh who each have 20 years of experience in theater arts and youth ministry.

Camp Director Stewart is especially excited about “Bluegrass Camp on Door Bluff,” coming June 13 – 15. “It has been fun partnering with Dan Rass of Fairland Bluegrass of Sturgeon Bay and Lloyd Michalsen of Sister Bay, as we prepare to launch this new bluegrass retreat at Camp Zion.” Highlights will include workshops and song circles led by Rass and other local musicians, and Fairland Bluegrass will perform a special Saturday evening concert.
