Campfire Cooking Featured at Savory Spoon

No need to roast hot dogs and warm up a can of beans anymore when you can dine on pizza margherita and hot cherry pie for dessert. On July 23 at 6 pm, join Savory Spoon Cooking School for a real campfire experience with instructors Mark Samuels and Ray Werner, who have collectively taught Outdoor Education at Lake Forest High School for over 45 years. They are also graduates of the National Outdoor Leadership School headquartered in Lander, Wyoming.

The class will teach the technique of twig fire and keyhole baking. Use of a variety of camping stoves will be demonstrated. The menu includes: grilled fruit kabobs, hickory smoked bacon wraps, gourmet pizza, fettuccine alfredo with sautéed bacon & leeks, and keyhole cherry pie.
