The Phase 4 restoration work at Cana Island is nearly complete, so the lighthouse tower and keeper’s quarters are now open to the public again.
This project fulfills the goals of the Cana Island Light Station Historic Structures Report, published in 2009, and will help to preserve public access to Cana Island for future generations.
Admission to see the keeper’s quarters restoration, climb the newly repainted 97 steps to the top of the lighthouse, and more is $12 for adults and $10 for ages 5-17. Children aged 4 and younger are free, as are active military members and up to five members of their immediate family. Door County Maritime Museum members also receive free admission to all museum properties.
Cana Island is open daily, 10 am – 5 pm, through Oct. 31.
