Candidate Forums for County Board and Sevastopol School Districts Scheduled

The League of Women Voters of Door County is sponsoring two Candidate Forums for the spring elections to acquaint the public with candidates for public office and their position on issues of importance to the voters. These forums are held to help voters select the most qualified, best suited person for the office and to promote the general health, welfare and safety of the community.

The first of these forums is for contested positions for Door County Board Districts 3, 7 and 17. This forum is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5 in the Jane Greene Room at the Door County Library, 107 S. 4th Ave., Sturgeon Bay. The forum will run from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.

The second forum is for Sevastopol School Board candidates. It will be held in the school multi-purpose room on Wednesday, March 12 (snow date, March 13) from 7 – 9 pm.

The forums are not debates. The evening consists of anonymous written questions from the audience. It is an opportunity for the public to ask questions of the candidates and to come away better informed to vote intelligently on Election Day, April 1. The league has used this format successfully at the local, state and national levels
