What is the biggest challenge facing the municipality and how would you address it?

I feel that the biggest challenge is making information available to town residents. One way I would try to address this problem is the creation of a town website. I would also look for other methods of getting more information to town residents.

If the board were forced to make budget cuts, what would be the first thing to go?

While not a service I would look to get rid of entirely, the garbage pick-up program is one area I would consider if making cutbacks. The board has recently been discussing the possibility of contracting a different garbage disposal company. In the event of budget cuts, I would seek less expensive alternatives. Evaluating multiple solutions to issues is something I would apply to all problems the town board encounters.

What do you see as the board’s duty to the residents and businesses in the municipality?

The board’s duty to the residents and businesses in the town is to represent their best interests. This is one of the contributing factors to my decision to run for office. I want to make more information available to residents, but the board also has a duty to listen to people and businesses in the town and determine the best course of action. One concern I have heard while campaigning is that residents do not feel the board is truly hearing their concerns and is not considering how decisions will impact some residents. I aim to correct this if elected.
