Cappaert Contemporary Gallery Celebrates Sculpture and Glass

Cappaert Contemporary Gallery in Egg Harbor will close on Oct. 31 for its fifth year celebrating contemporary arts in Door County and the gallery thanks customers and collectors for another great season.

Sculpture and glass are both an important part of the contemporary genre that the gallery represents. Sculptures of clay by artists Stacy Lee Ollmann, Maureen McGrath and Elle Je Freeheart may be figurative, but all tell deep stories through their expression of the medium. Metal outdoor sculptures by Greg Gregorich, Tom Prohl, Jamison Gliszinski and Steve Yankowski push the boundaries in their use of metal each in their own way. Glass, in its many forms including blown, fused and painted, are showcased at the gallery by artists Alyssa Diebolt, Barrie Brown, Richard Jones, Connor O’Brien and Lynn Dinning.  Each artist works differently with the medium creating functional or purely decorative pieces.

Cappaert Contemporary Gallery, located at 7901 Hwy 42 in Egg Harbor, will be open by appointment through the winter but will reopen May 1, 2020 with its daily hours for the season. For questions or an appointment to see the gallery in the off-season, contact Ginnie Cappaert at 920.868.3987.
