Captivating Charm

“Cave Point” by Bethany Kirwen.

The Door County Art League (DCAL) Gallery at the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek is featuring the art of Bethany Kirwen and Barbara Timmerman during Aug. 23 – 29.

Kirwen explores ways to encourage others through her colorful visuals of nature. Her creativity and playfulness are evident in her approach to her art. Kirwen enjoys using soft and oil pastels and acrylics on various textured surfaces. She has participated in several art exhibitions including the Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay, Peninsula School of Art’s Guenzel Gallery in Fish Creek and Meadows Art Gallery in Sister Bay.

Timmerman retired to Egg Harbor ten years ago, after vacationing on this peninsula since she was five years old. Her love of drawing and architectural design has led her to paint the very buildings she visited as a child. She brings a light and bright touch to her paintings, endeavoring to capture the charm of these towns from a bygone era. Timmerman hopes to evoke memories in others as they view her work.

The DCAL gallery is open every day except Wednesday from 11 am to 5 pm (3 pm on Sundays). It is located in the rear courtyard of the Top of the Hill Shops in Fish Creek. For more information visit doorcountyartleague.org.
