Capture the Spirit in Sister Bay

As soon as the turkey and stuffing are consumed, multiple football games watched, and the hunters back in the woods, Sister Bay will turn to holiday festivities on Thanksgiving weekend with Capture the Spirit.

Capture the Spirit will begin in Sister Bay on Nov. 27 with a Tree Lighting Ceremony at 4:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to gather in Sister Bay Waterfront Park by the big tree located at the of corner Mill Road and Highway 42. There will be refreshments, music, the arrival of Father Christmas, the lighting the village Christmas tree and waterfront stars. The party will move indoors to the nearby Sister Bay Cafe where Father Christmas will share songs and stories with the children. The town will be lit with luminaries street lights and all will be decorated for the winter season.

On Saturday, Nov. 28, the Village of Sister Bay will offer free trolley rides all around town to take visitors from Tannenbaum at the north end to the “uptown” Country Walk Shops at the south end. The trolley will run back and forth all day from 10 am – 5 pm with easily visible stops at Tannebaum, downtown along Highway 42 near the Village Hall, at the corner of Mill Road, and at the corner of Maple Dr, and at the Country Walk Shops.

A number of businesses will have special events and holiday treats, including Passtimes Books, Inn at Kristofers, On Deck, Tannebaum, Open Hearth Lodge, Sister Bay Café, Al

Johnson’s Butik and Restaurant, Silly Goose (Ellison Bay), and many more. Also, the Friends of Gibraltar’s annual Holiday Art Fair will take place in the Sister Bay Village Hall on Nov. 27 and 28 from 10 am – 4 pm with lunch offered from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm.
