Woodwalk Gallery and Events Center will hold the opening reception for its second gallery exhibit, “Captured Rhythms,” Sunday, June 11 from 4:30 – 7 pm. Featured artists include sculptor Richard Edelman, ceramist R. Christian Egger, and printmaker Dale VandenHouten.

The public is invited to enjoy food and beverages along with music by bluegrass artists Katie Dahl and Rich Higdon. The event will feature artist talks and the chance for the public to explore Woodwalk Gallery.

Richard Edelman is known for his large scale, outdoor works, though he also sculpts smaller tabletop pieces. Some of his pieces incorporate mechanical objects including tools, gears, and separators.

Ceramicist R.Christian Egger works in a variety of formats and sizes. For this show, however, he presents 20 of his roughly 25”x 20” platters. The platters incorporate a number of techniques developed by Egger including his trademark inclusion of natural materials.

Printmaker and papermaker, Dale VandenHouten is a Door County original whose work and scope have grown as his love for the county has deepened. He incorporates local, natural materials into his papermaking and then printing.

The Woodwalk Gallery is located at 6746 County Road G in Egg Harbor. For more information, call 920.868.2912 or visit http://www.woodwalkgallery.com.
