Cast Announced for Peninsula Players’ “Changing Channels” Reading
Peninsula Players Theatre has announced the cast for Changing Channels – the second in its The Play’s the Thing winter play-reading series – set for March 6, 7 pm, at Björklunden. The actors, under the direction of artistic director Linda Fortunato, will be Frankie Breit, Erica Elam, Andrés Enriquez, Karl Hamilton and Noah Simon.
Changing Channels is set backstage at the DuMont Television Network in New York City in 1952 and is based on actual events. Television pioneers and stars such as Lucille Ball, Sid Caesar and Jackie Gleason brought laughter into America’s homes each week, but nobody was laughing behind the cameras when many performers were blacklisted for their political beliefs.
There is no admission fee, but donations are appreciated. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis at Björklunden, 7590 Boynton Lane in Baileys Harbor. Masking is encouraged but not required.
