As leaves fall and the air grows colder, local theater companies are going into hibernation mode. Catch these three performances before they do.

Third Avenue PlayWorks: Birds of North America 

When: Wednesday-Saturday, 7:30 pm, and Sunday, 2 pm, until Oct. 30

What it’s about: The relationship between a father and his daughter evolves over the course of a decade as they watch birds together.

Northern Sky Theater: Sunflowered

What it’s about: When a young woman faces a life-altering decision, she and her closest friends gather for a camping trip.

Rogue Theater: Marilyn/God

Where: Door County Fire Company, 38 S. 3rd Ave. in Sturgeon Bay

What it’s about: Marilyn Monroe contemplates her life after dying by suicide.
