Door County is home to a selection of performance venues and ensembles unmatched by any other small communities in America. Birch Creek brings jazz and classical music to a rustic barn, Midsummer’s Music Festival tours the peninsula for intimate concerts, and the Peninsula Music Festival awes visitors and locals alike at the Door Community Auditorium each august.   • Beethoven’s Sonatas at Bjِrklunden

    Lawrence University’s Bjِrklunden will host a concert on March 8 at 1:30 pm. Hear the music of Beethoven for cello and piano. The Lawrence University Cello Studio and their colleagues in the piano department will present Beethoven’s complete sonatas for Cello and Piano on the Appleton campus on March 11.

  • Door Concerts Series Features Harpist

    Classically trained harpist Tammy Naze will be performing some of her favorite pieces on a collection of harps as part of the Door Concerts Series on Feb.

  • Feb Fest Continues with Peninsula Music Festival

    The 2015 February Fest continues on Feb. 21 with Peninsula Music Festival violist Thomas Kluge and pianist Judith Jackson. The concert will take place at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church at 2 pm.

    The Sturgeon Bay Band will present their annual POPS concert at the Sturgeon Bay High School Gym on Feb. 21 at 4 pm. The concert will feature classic rock music from 1950 to today played by bands from 6th grade through high school including the high school concert band and wind ensemble.

    Door Concerts, Inc. will present the renowned Pro Arte Quartet in a concert at the Olde Opera House on Jan. 29 at 7 pm. The program will include quartets of Haydn and Dvorak, along with a special guest appearance by the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s soprano Emily Birsan.

    Ministry Door County Medical Center’s (MDCMC) Art for Health free workshops for children will begin at the end of January. The workshops focus on music and art using performance, demonstrations and other activities with local visual and performing artists as facilitators.
