Cedar Strip Canoes Set for Raffle

Master, Boy Scout Troop 1120; Boy Scouts Dave Jacobs and Nicholas Zielke, Webelos Cub Scout Michael Davis; Lion President Tom Liechty and Lions Dave Olson, Al Strack, Dennis Paschke and Gary Lhost.

During the winter months, members of Cub Scout Pack 4120 and Boy Scout Troop 1120, which are sponsored by the Sister Bay Lions Club, worked on a project to build three Cedar strip canoes.

Two of the canoes will now be raffled under the auspices of the Lions, while the third canoe will remain with the scouting groups for their use. The canoes will be displayed throughout Northern Door County between now and Marina Fest, during which time the winning tickets will be drawn and the winners announced. All proceeds will go to the scout organizations.

In addition to the Sister Bay Lions support, others such as John Sawyer provided funding for the Cedar material, and Pat

Hockers provided the heated building in which the work was done.
