Celebrate 25 Years of Crescent Beach Boardwalk

The citizens of Algoma celebrated the completion of the Crescent Beach Boardwalk on June 22, 1996. On its 25th anniversary – June 22, 2021 – the Friends of Crescent Beach organization invites the public to a celebration and ice cream social.

The event will begin at 6 pm on the lawn of Legion Park, 620 Lake St. in Algoma. Attendees are encouraged to supply their own folding chairs. The Algoma Community Band will play; speakers will reflect on the history and importance of the boardwalk; and ice cream sundaes will be served. The rain date is June 23.

A campaign began in November 2020 to raise $15,000 for boardwalk maintenance and improvements. Friends of Crescent Beach met this goal in March, but donations will still be appreciated during the June 22 event or by mail through June.
