Celebrate 47 Years with Ellison Bay Pottery

Ellison Bay Pottery is celebrating 47 years on Garrett Bay Road. Resident potter John Dietrich is also 54 years of working with clay.

He was potter Abe Cohn’s assistant at the Potters Wheel in both Fish Creek and Milwaukee for six years. In 1974 he bought the Driftwood Farms apple barn and transformed it into a home/studio and gallery.

To celebrate, Ellison Bay Pottery has been offering raku firing and pottery demonstrations throughout the month. A Raku firing will be held Aug. 21, 1-3 pm, and a ‘try-it’ pottery demonstration is offered Aug. 25, 10 am – 12 pm.

More stories and video interviews will be available at ellisonbaypotterystudios.com and their YouTube channel.
