Celebrate APPLES! at Door County Historical Museum

On Saturday, September 18 the Door County Historical Museum will present a celebration of “APPLES!” from 10 am – 2 pm. The event will feature apple treats and a display of the early history of the apple industry in Door County, including the many contributions of Joseph Zettel.

In 1893, Zettel submitted over 20 different varieties of apples from his orchard to the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago and won premiums for several. The museum will display his medals and share samples of his heirloom apples, along with current varieties of apples.

The Door County Historical Museum is located at 18 N. 4th Avenue in Sturgeon Bay. For more information call 920.743.5809.
