Celebrate Camp Meenahga’s 100th Anniversary with Peninsula State Park

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of Camp Meenahga at Peninsula State Park with a birthday party on July 12, 10 am to noon. One hundred years ago on July 12, two determined mothers from St. Louis established a girls camp at Peninsula State Park (1916-1948). At the party, meet founder Alice Orr Clark (portrayed by the park naturalist). Her grandson Laurence Day may be in attendance with the sterling silver Meenahga spirit cup. There will also be party favors for kids, party games, Pine Tree Awards for Best Posture, and Devils – a favorite Meenahga dessert. The party will be held at Peninsula State Park’s Nature Center. This program is free and open to the public, but a state park vehicle sticker is required. For more information call 920.854.5976.
