CELEBRATE NATIONAL TRAILS DAY AT CROSSROADS

Volunteers of all ages are invited to join the Habitat Healers: a weekly land-restoration effort at Crossroads at Big Creek. The group will meet next on June 4, 9:30-11:30 am. Instruction, equipment, gloves, cookies and lemonade are all provided. Wear appropriate footwear and clothing that can get dirty and wet

Then celebrate National Trails Day on June 4, 2 pm, during Saturday Science. The theme for the program – intended for school-aged youth and their families – will be game trails. Meet at the Collins Learning Center.

On June 4, 3:30 pm, join the Five Bridges trail hike to explore portions of each of the four habitat trails and visit the Five Bridges over Big Creek. The hike will last about an hour and a half. Meet at the Collins Learning Center.

On June 5, 2 pm, enjoy a gentle ramble at the Ida Bay Preserve, where there should still be some spring wildflowers. Meet at the intersection of Canal Road and Buffalo Ridge. 

Explore the wetlands June 7, 6:30 pm, during a walk and talk to learn what wetlands are and why Crossroads cares about them. Meet in the Collins Learning Center’s lecture hall for a short presentation; then visit some of the wetlands that Crossroads protects.

Crossroads at Big Creek (crossroadsatbigcreek.org) is located at 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay.
