Celebrate “Old Fashioned Fun” in Ellison Bay

The 49th Olde Ellison Bay Days Festival will feature “Old Fashioned Fun” this year. Three community groups will team up again this year to uncork the 2015 Northern Door festival season, June 25 – 28, in Ellison Bay.

Jennifer Lee, president of the Ellison Bay Service Club (sponsor of the festival since 1966), announced this year’s festivities will commence at 5 pm on June 25, with an original Door County fish boil at the Viking Grill.

The Fine Arts & Crafts Fair will start setting up on June 26, in Community Park (at the bottom of the Highway 42 grade). Spaces are still available (call 920.854.5049 for information). That evening, an old-fashioned ice cream social will be open to everyone in the Park Clubhouse at 5 pm. It will feature a barbershop quartet, and revelers are encouraged to wear historical period dress.

On June 27, 10 am – 5 pm, the second annual Uncork Summer celebration will serve gourmet delights from area food and beverage purveyors on the grounds of Ellison Bay’s Wickman House Restaurant on Mink River Road.

At 11 am on June 27, the annual Olde Ellison Bay Days Parade will wind down the Highway 42 grade from Shepherd of the Bay Church through Ellison Bay village, ending at Fitzgerald Park. All floats are welcome, especially entries reflecting this year’s ‘Old Times’ theme (call 262.617.8098 for entry guidelines).

There will also be water golf, VFW cookout, face painting, kids Olympics results, Happy Schnapps Combo polka band, an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner, hot pancake breakfast, music from Big Mouth and the Power Tools and the second annual Bestminster Dog Show. For more information call 920.421.1753.
