Celebrate Peninsula’s Heritage June 19-25

For the second consecutive year, cultural and historical institutions throughout Door County are coming together to present Door County History Days: a weeklong celebration of the peninsula’s history and heritage. From June 19 to 25, 20-plus nonprofit organizations will host more than 30 special programs around the area.

History Days kicks off with an event at the Miller Art Museum on June 19, 11 am – 12:30 pm, when participating organizations will staff information booths with historically themed activities. The event starts with remarks by Elizabeth Meissner-Gigstead, curator, Miller Art Museum; Brennan Christianson, chair, Heritage Alliance of Door County; Julie Gilbert, CEO, Destination Door County; Christian Øverland, director and CEO, Wisconsin Historical Society; Rep. Mike Gallagher; Sen. André Jacque; and Rep. Joel Kitchens.
